Lan Sizhui expresses frustration with Young Master Qin's condescension towards servants. Wei Wuxian admits it is nothing but a random scribble, before asking Lan Sizhui what he thinks of Young Master Qin. When he tells Lan Sizhui to deliver the talisman, Lan Sizhui finds himself unable to decipher it. Wei Wuxian then uses cinnabar to paint a talisman. Wei Wuxian reassures Young Master Qin that it is not so bad if it was not suicide, and sends him on his way with the promise of a delivering Talisman later.Īfter he departs, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian converse that two years is a long time to wait if the corpse truly wanted revenge. Lan Wangji asks when the servant died, and Young Master Qin answers that he died was two years ago, after falling while running around drunk in the middle of the night. When Wei Wuxian presses to know who was ultimately right and wrong, Young Master Qin adopts an unpleasant expression while he claims not to remember. Wei Wuxian then asks if Young Master Qin was the person who came up with the first answer, but Young Master Qin simply avoids the question. He scorns the servant's temper, citing that he refused to return to school in the aftermath. Young Master Qin says that he was the first to suggest he leave. Wei Wuxian asks if Young Master Qin had a particular role that would single him out for revenge.
